About the Role

The Healthcare Billing Specialist will be responsible for managing insurance claims, processing invoices, and ensuring accurate and timely reimbursements. This role is essential in maintaining financial stability and compliance within our growing organization.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and submit medical claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance providers.

  • Review insurance policies, verify patient eligibility, and confirm pre-authorizations.

  • Track and manage billing cycles, payments, and outstanding balances.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations regarding home health care billing.

  • Work closely with the finance and administrative teams to resolve billing issues and disputes.

  • Assist patients and their families in understanding billing statements and insurance coverage.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of home health care reimbursement policies and coding guidelines.

  • Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends, errors, and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous experience in home health care billing, medical billing, or healthcare finance is required.

  • Proficiency in insurance verification, claims processing, and billing software (e.g., Medicare/Medicaid portals, EHR systems).

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical coding (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10).

  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.

  • Strong communication skills to assist clients and team members with billing-related questions.

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
